In 2010, I idealized a documentary film about the occidental woman´s Islam conversion. In 2011, I co-directed this project and also made the photography for it.

A group of Spanish women reveal their process of conversion to Islam and the challenges and needs regarding this decision. By looking closely at this process, Shahada calls for a reflection on the intimate and social paradoxes that the conversion to Islam entails for a Western woman.

Anna Carolina Negri , Brazilian, 27 years old.

Graduation

2012: Master of Documentary Photography (School of Photography and Image Center - Madrid, Spain)

2011: Master of Creative Documentary Film (Autonomous University of Barcelona - Barcelona, Spain).

2007: Bachelor Degree in Journalism (Methodist University of São Paulo - Brazil)

In São Paulo worked as a freelancer for photo agencies, magazines and during 4 years was on the photography staff of the newspaper 'Valor Econômico'.

She currently resides in Madrid, Spain.
